Better allergy detection from Siemens

2 January 2014

Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics has announced improvements to its allergy-detecting systems, IMMULITE 2000 and IMMULITE 2000 XPi.

Both now benefit from the third-generation enhancement 3gAllergy, which can identify 14 new molecular allergens. This brings the total beyond 480.

Already a highly sensitive blood test, the system can now detect allergens including pollen, apple, Pacific squid, bamboo shoot, yam and orchard grass. 3gAllergy is fully automated and easy to use, enabling consolidation of allergy tests onto one platform.

"The 3gAllergy menu, teamed with the IMMULITE 2000 and IMMULITE 2000 XPi systems, provides highly responsive functionality, designed to streamline workflow, enhance operational efficiency and support improved care," said Abigail Wynne-Jones, Immunassay product manager at Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics.
