Wound treatment with LIGASANO® for heel decubitus category 3

This case report discusses the treatment of an 84-year-old female patient with stage IV PAOD and a category 3 heel ulcer on the left heel. Following limited progress with conventional wound dressings, treatment was switched to LIGASANO® in May 2019. Despite challenges including patient non-compliance, incorrect footwear, and sensitivity to adhesive materials, the ulcer showed consistent improvement. Pressure relief, stimulation of granulation, and ease of application facilitated healing, culminating in wound closure by October 2019. LIGASANO® proved effective in addressing both medical and patient compliance challenges, offering cost-efficient and manageable wound care in a complex case.
