Cohesity has announced that Bethany Children’s Health Centre has selected the Cohesity Data Cloud to boost patient data security and improve operational efficiency.

The healthcare facility, which specialises in treating children with complex medical needs, aims to address the increasing threat of cyberattacks.

According to Cohesity’s 2024 Global Survey, 23% of government and public service entities have experienced cyberattacks, highlighting the urgency of robust data protection measures.

“Our goal is to provide the best care for every child who walks through our doors, and a key part of that commitment is ensuring their health information is both protected and accessible.

Bethany Children’s Health Center chief information executive Kevin Chambers said: “Partnering with Cohesity has strengthened our security posture and improved our ability to respond to potential threats.

“Restoring our data was a complicated process before Cohesity. Now, it’s streamlined, quick, and efficient, and we have extra resilience with cyber vaulting and AI-powered alerts to potential threats.

“With Cohesity as our partner, our data is more secure and can be restored faster and more efficiently, ensuring uninterrupted patient care.”

Bethany Children’s Health Centre faced challenges with its previous data backup and restoration processes, which were time-consuming and complex. The inefficiencies posed risks to patient care by potentially delaying service restoration during incidents.

By implementing Cohesity’s solutions, the centre has streamlined these processes, thereby enhancing its resilience against cyber threats.

The use of a centralised dashboard now offers a comprehensive view of data and backup environments, while features such as immutable backups and AI-driven threat detection provide added security.

In addition to these improvements, Bethany Children’s is in the early stages of adopting Cohesity’s Gaia enterprise knowledge discovery assistant.

The initiative forms part of the healthcare centre’s broader strategy to leverage AI innovations to optimise patient care.
