Baxter International unveiled the Dynamo Series smart stretcher to reduce the care team’s workload and enhance patient care by addressing common challenges in hospital environments.
Unveiled at the 2026 JP Morgan Healthcare Conference, the Dynamo Series is intended for use in perioperative areas, emergency departments, and patient transport services.
It is the latest addition to Baxter’s portfolio of smart surfaces, beds, and connected care products.

Key features of the Dynamo Series include integrated stirrups that support alternative patient positioning options, aimed at minimising the need for transferring patients between stretchers.
The full electric suite allows powered drive, head, knee, and height adjustments. An optional wireless connectivity feature enables patient data and select clinical safety to be integrated with the electronic medical record (EHR) for remote monitoring.
To help prevent patient falls, the Dynamo Series incorporates technologies such as Baxter’s SafeView+ system, which projects visual safety cues, and a three-mode bed exit alarm system with auto-rearm functionality.
Optional connectivity enables integration with communication systems such as Voalte Nurse Call, providing real-time alerts to care teams.
The stretcher offers a wide care surface to accommodate different patient sizes and includes one-touch positioning controls, chair conversion capability, and a USB port for device charging.
According to Baxter, these features aim to improve both safety and comfort for patients. The Dynamo Series is currently available for order in the US, with release anticipated in the first half of 2026.
Baxter care and connectivity solutions president James Teaff: “At Baxter, we are committed to driving focused innovation that empowers clinicians to deliver exceptional patient care in high-pressure environments. The stretcher is a vital bridge between care teams and patients.
“We designed the Dynamo Series to strengthen these connections by addressing some of the toughest challenges care teams face, including reducing the need for patient transfers and simplifying patient positioning across a range of procedures.”
Earlier this month MUSC Health and Baxter entered a multi-year partnership to advance the use of connected care technologies in nursing to enhance patient care delivery.
