US-based healthcare technology and services company WellSky has launched SkySense, designed to streamline clinical operations and enhance provider quality.
SkySense is an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered tool suite designed to improve operational and clinician efficiency.
The platform includes tools to extract, transcribe, and summarise forms. These features automate forms, reduce documentation errors, and save time so that providers can spend more time with patients.
SkySense includes three tools to assist providers and will be integrated with WellSky’s electronic health record (EHR) solutions.
WellSky Extract is an AI-powered tool to extract key information from documents and images, automatically populating the necessary data into the EHR system.
The second tool, WellSky Scribe, listens to patient visits and transcribes them into clinical documentation.
WellSky Summarize is designed for AI-generated synthesis of medical records for quick review, quality assurance, and compliance checks.
WellSky chairman and CEO Bill Miller said: “Innovative technology and connected networks from WellSky are already powering providers’ success, in both achieving quality outcomes and improving business performance.
“But we have even greater ambitions when it comes to harnessing the power of AI to help address the real and urgent problems clinicians and caregivers are facing today.
“While not intended to replace clinical judgment, SkySense functionality is here to help lighten the load for providers, giving them more time to spend with their patients.”
The healthcare technology company offers several solutions that transform data into actionable insights for healthcare providers.
WellSky claims that its WellSky CareInsights platform has been shown to reduce hospitalisations by an average of 4.4% while helping providers grow their businesses. Additionally, its WellSky TeamEngage platform has helped reduce caregiver turnover by 20% for one client.
The healthcare services company said the debut of WellSky’s SkySense suite comes at a time when healthcare providers are grappling with challenges like shrinking financial margins, cybersecurity threats, and workforce shortages.
Last month, WellSky completed the acquisition of Bonafide, a provider of enterprise software solutions for durable medical equipment (DME) and home medical equipment (HME) firms.
Recently, the company also partnered with CareRing for enhanced care of vulnerable groups and expanded its collaboration with Atlantic Health on patient management.
