US-based patient safety solutions provider Vitalacy has launched its AI-powered Virtual Care solution to enhance patient safety, reduce hospital falls, and optimise hospital efficiency through remote monitoring.
The Virtual Care solution leverages AI to monitor patients in real-time, providing real-time alerts to prevent unattended bed exits and minimise risks such as falls or elopements.
It comes with two-way communication features, which enable healthcare staff to respond quickly, enhancing patient care while reducing the workload on nurses and caregivers.
Unlike traditional methods such as bed alarms or telesitters, the AI solution integrates stereo cameras and AI-driven learning to deliver highly accurate monitoring.
The integration facilitates precise depth perception and adaptive patient behaviour analysis, significantly reducing false alarms and enabling timely interventions.
Vitalacy CEO and co-founder Janel Raanan said: “The launch of our Virtual Care solution marks a significant milestone in our patient safety offerings.
“By leveraging AI-driven alerts and real-time remote monitoring, we are empowering healthcare providers with the tools they need to prevent falls and improve efficiency.
“In addition, Vitalacy Virtual Care pairs well with our existing hand hygiene monitoring solutions to reduce harm in hospitals and enhance the overall patient experience.”
According to the company, the Virtual Care solution offers dynamic reporting, auto-detection, predictive alerts, directional sound, night vision, and machine learning features.
The system identifies operational efficiencies with dynamic data viewing options and auto-detects bed movement to improve the bed exit assessment.
Its predictive alerts provide the staff with critical time to intervene before an incident occurs, and directional sound enables remote delivery of soft care without entering a room.
The system’s night vision feature allows nurses to view the bed area without turning the room lights on, and machine learning eliminates defects in workflow, said Vitalacy.
Vitalacy co-founder and Board president Bahram Nour-Omid said: “Vitalacy’s Virtual Care platform is a game-changer for the healthcare industry.
“This technology provides healthcare teams with the crucial support they need, ensuring patient safety while enhancing staff productivity.
“We are confident that this solution will have a meaningful impact on patient care and hospital operations, further strengthening Vitalacy as a leader in patient safety technologies.”
