Vantive is set to invest more than $1bn over the next five years to expand its research and development (R&D) and manufacturing capabilities in digitally-enabled therapies.

The investment aims to improve access, experience, and outcomes in kidney care for patients and clinicians.

By developing digitally-enabled dialysis and critical care products, Vantive will enhance clinical decision-making and reduce care disruptions.

Also, it will transform kidney care management from episodic to proactive, and improve connectivity between patients and care teams, enabling consistent and personalised care.

Vantive CEO Chris Toth said: “As we prepare to take part in our first ERA Congress as Vantive, we are proud to unveil this significant investment, which underscores our commitment to shaping the future of kidney care and vital organ support.

“Better outcomes are possible when care is more accessible, more intuitive, and more connected to the needs of patients as well as the realities of the modern healthcare ecosystem.

“That’s why we are focused on transforming where and how therapy is delivered – from life-saving critical care for patients in a hospital, to life-sustaining dialysis for patients at home.”

The vital organ therapy company plans to showcase its portfolio at the 62nd European Renal Association Congress, highlighting key products, digital solutions, and clinical studies.

Its Sharesource Connectivity Platform is a two-way remote patient management system that connects at-home automated peritoneal dialysis patients with their care teams.

The platform facilitated over 100 million home dialysis treatments worldwide, improving patient adherence and reducing mortality since it was launched a decade ago.

Vantive plans to present studies on Sharesource Analytics 1.0 in peritoneal dialysis services, exploring the impact of remote patient management tools on care efficiency and outcomes.

In addition, its PrisMax System, developed for ICU healthcare practitioners, offers timely data for managing continuous renal replacement therapy and multi-organ support.

To help clinicians using its therapies, Vantive offers on-demand training through its Learning Services, including virtual reality-based training for the PrisMax System.

The immersive training allows intensive care staff to learn without disrupting frontline services, using a virtual 3D model of the system.
