Tanner Health, together with its affiliate Healthliant Ventures, has teamed up with Kent Imaging to adopt the latter’s SnapshotNIR device into its clinical settings.

Based in Calgary, Canada, Kent Imaging specialises in developing medical imaging technology.

SnapshotNIR is a near-infrared, reflectance-based technology that measures tissue oxygen saturation (StO2) in superficial tissue.

The device provides a non-invasive imaging solution to evaluate tissue oxygenation in real time, supporting wound care, vascular evaluations, and surgical planning.

Tanner Health, a five-hospital non-profit system, serves communities in west Georgia and east Alabama, with advanced medical technologies and treatments.

Kent Imaging CEO Pierre Lemire said: “We’re excited to partner with Healthliant Ventures and Tanner Health to bring the power of SnapshotNIR into the clinical environment.

“The collaboration highlights how real-time tissue oxygenation imaging can be embedded into existing workflows to support more informed, ethical and efficient care.

“By delivering objective data directly into the EHR, we’re enabling clinicians to justify treatments, document decisions accurately and ultimately improve patient outcomes.”

In the initial phase of the partnership, Tanner staff will pilot the advanced imaging tool for improving clinical workflows and wound treatment.

The second phase will see Healthliant and Kent working together on simplifying the image uploading into Epic’s electronic health record (EHR) software.

The approach optimises care documentation and clinical efficiency, said Tanner.

Healthliant Ventures Managing Director Steve West said: “Partnering with Kent Imaging on SnapshotNIR illustrates our commitment to bringing advanced imaging technologies into everyday clinical practice.

“This pilot underscores our ability to deepen clinical workflows, help clinicians access better data, and ultimately deliver improved patient outcomes.”

Kent Imaging clinical services vice president Christine Shettel said: “From a clinical perspective, it was exciting to see physicians and medical staff quickly incorporate information from SnapshotNIR into their decision-making and care planning.

“This led to expedited referrals — such as for vascular surgery — and also provided confirmation when treatment plans were effective. With continued clinical support and training, we expect these positive outcomes to grow even further.”
