US-based Senderra Specialty Pharmacy has launched SenderraCare+, an advanced digital solution designed to enhance the patient experience for those on specialty medications.
SenderraCare+ offers real-time updates on medication status and facilitates two-way communication throughout the patient journey.
The solution can be accessible via mobile phones, tablets, or desktops, and aims to address significant challenges in specialty medication healthcare.
Senderra said that several pharmaceutical manufacturers have partnered with the company to deploy the service, after a successful beta-testing for more than a year.
Senderra Specialty Pharmacy CEO and co-founder Will Howard said: “We are excited to provide another innovative solution to enhance the patient’s healthcare experience.
“Senderra is committed to advancing the patient and provider experience as it relates to specialty medications by providing solutions to revolutionize patient healthcare.
“We are fortunate to have comprehensive relationships with our providers and manufacturers to best understand the areas where we can innovate and provide new solutions for the optimal patient experience.”
SenderraCare+ offers key benefits including streamlined onboarding processes, improved medication adherence, and reduced patient abandonment rates.
Upon leaving their healthcare provider’s office, patients can enrol for the service through digital SMS, scheduling a welcome call with Senderra’s patient care team to begin the therapy.
SenderraCare+ allows patients to digitally manage their journey, from consenting to treatment and providing personal details to scheduling medication deliveries and consultations.
The solution hosts all the features in a safe and secure environment, advancing the patient process flow owing to its digital contact, interaction, and engagement.
According to the specialty pharmacy, its digital solution will benefit provider offices by outsourcing prior authorisation services for all patient prescriptions.
The service frees up time in the provider’s offices and ensures each prescription receives prior authorization before filling or, if necessary, is transferred to a mandated specialty pharmacy.
In addition, Senderra established a network for providers, dubbed SenderraCare+ Network Provider, which automates patient enrolment upon prescription submission.
The specialty pharmacy said that currently more than 2,000 providers joined its network, and it keeps the provider’s office informed of the patient’s journey throughout the process.
