Reimagine Care, a US-based provider of on-demand cancer care, has entered a pilot collaboration with MedStar Health, a healthcare provider in Maryland and Washington, DC.

The partnership will integrate Reimagine Care’s advanced oncology platform into MedStar Health’s cancer care delivery, extending patient care from the clinic to the home.

Reimagine Care’s 24/7 patient-centred model offers high-quality, personalised care using advanced technology, data insights, and a multidisciplinary team.

The approach allows patients to receive comprehensive care from the comfort of their homes, ensuring continuity and convenience.

Reimagine Care CEO Dan Nardi said: “Partnering with MedStar Health represents an opportunity to fundamentally enhance cancer care in Maryland and Washington, DC.

“By integrating our on-demand oncology care platform into MedStar’s robust oncology care model, we can help improve patient outcomes, reduce the burden on clinics, address clinical care gaps and provide a seamless experience for patients.”

MedStar Health, with a network of ten hospitals and numerous outpatient locations, received Accreditation from the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer (CoC).

Its network includes the Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Centre, designated by the National Cancer Institute (NCI).

The partnership enables MedStar Health to expand its cancer care beyond the clinic, with symptom management, remote patient monitoring, and supportive care services.

Also, the collaboration aims to improve quality performance and reduce emergency visits and hospitalisations, ultimately enhancing patient quality of life.

The pilot in Baltimore addresses the need for convenient cancer care, particularly in diverse communities facing logistical and financial challenges.

The initiative aims to improve care coordination, streamline patient experiences, and support MedStar Health’s commitment to value-based care focused on outcomes and affordability.

MedStar Health community oncology medical director Mahsa Mohebtash said: “We are pleased to incorporate Reimagine Care into our navigation services for cancer patients.

“We hope this pilot project successfully meets our goals to ensure patients have the most fluid access and continuity of care and opens the door to explore opportunities for future collaboration.”
