Healthcare analytics company PurpleLab has acquired KAID Health to enhance its capabilities by integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and natural language processing.

KAID Health enhances care delivery through its Whole Chart Analysis platform, which extracts comprehensive data from Electronic Medical Records (EMRs).

The merger combines PurpleLab’s structured claims data with KAID Health’s technology to provide a complete view of patient journeys across data sources.

The unified platform aims to improve clinical research, care management, and financial performance in healthcare.

KAID Health’s Whole Chart Analysis platform is known for extracting insights from electronic medical records and medical notes.

The company enhances coding accuracy and quality reporting by leveraging natural language processing.

KAID Health CEO and founder Kevin Agatstein said: “As our customers and research partners have shown, better data leads to better decisions at the patient, provider, and population level.

“This partnership expands how structured and unstructured data can be applied to care quality, coding, and clinical research.”

PurpleLab’s HealthNexus platform provides real-time analytics across vast data points, aligning with KAID Health’s workflows for improved care management.

The combined platforms aim to enhance financial performance by addressing documentation gaps.

Also, it accelerates drug development through precise patient identification and supporting value-based care initiatives.

The automation of coding and chart review is expected to reduce administrative tasks, delivering rapid returns on investment for clients.

The combined solution is currently available for payers, accountable care organisations (ACOs), providers, and life sciences companies.

PurpleLab CEO Mark Brosso said: “This acquisition positions PurpleLab to move beyond traditional analytics and become an AI-first healthcare intelligence company.

“By combining our data with KAID’s AI, we can unlock insights from the unstructured clinical narrative and deliver measurable value and proven financial impact to our partners and other healthcare organisations.”

In July last year, KAID Health partnered with Park Medical Centres (PMC) to enhance medical coding accuracy, efficiency, and care quality.
