Health technology firm Royal Philips has signed a 10-year partnership agreement with Flevo Hospital to enable continuous optimisation of patient care in the Almere region of the Netherlands.
Philips noted that the collaboration is built on four major priorities, including optimal use of medical technology to achieve the right care in the right place, advancing the care and strengthening communication between the Hospital and its patients and partners.
Also, the collaboration will ensure enhancing the involvement of hospital employees by removing the burden from care professionals and improving work processes, along with saving costs and improving the effectiveness of the technology.
Flevo Hospital CEO Anita Arts said: “We are confronted with many new challenges, but want to keep providing a high standard of affordable care not only within the hospital but also increasingly outside the hospital.
“We want to involve our patients even more closely in their care. This is possible with the help of technological solutions. Philips is a partner for the future with whom we want to innovate and develop new solutions for our strategic challenges.”
Philips will serve as the preferred supplier of imaging systems for Flevo Hospital
Under the agreement, Philips and Flevo Hospital will jointly work on advancement programs aimed at introducing new technologies and their optimal use. The programmes will expand patient monitoring in the hospital, and facilitate care outside the hospital.
Also, an annual education plan is planned for the development and education of healthcare providers and medical technicians in the hospital, ensuring the optimal and effect of Philips’ patient care technology.
During the term of the contract, Philips will serve as the preferred supplier of imaging systems, including MR, CT and ultrasound, and patient monitoring systems.
The purchase of equipment will be organised through a multi-year medical technology plan to reduce costs and make it more transparent for the hospital, which would also be provided with early insight into new Philips solutions.
Philips Benelux CEO Henk Valk said: “Thanks to our broad portfolio, we can help Flevo Hospital achieve its ambitions and overcome the challenges it faces. In this collaboration, we will work as partners to realize a future-proof hospital.
“Innovation is the most important part, but good education, together with the maintenance and service of our technology, are also enormously important for the Flevo Hospital to be able to deliver high-quality patient care.”
