US-based healthcare data and analytics provider Milliman MedInsight has unveiled the new version of its data lake and data warehouse architecture, dubbed MedInsight Health Cloud.
MedInsight Health Cloud is a foundational system for data hosting and analytic reporting that uses advanced cloud-native technology to effectively manage data from collection to insights.
The company said its new cloud capability allows healthcare organisations to leverage their data and rapidly address complex healthcare challenges.
Also, it enables health plans, accountable care organisations (ACOs), providers, and health systems to improve cost efficiency and clinical outcomes in new ways.
The new-gen MedInsight Health Cloud features performance enhancements, powered by strategic collaboration with Databricks and Microsoft Azure.
Milliman MedInsight said that its Health Cloud is a MedInsight Data Confidence Model (DCM) at its core and is engineered to meet the highest standards of security and compliance.
Milliman MedInsight principal and CEO Kent Sacia said: “Our commitment to innovation is pivotal in ensuring that our customers receive timely and reliable data insights across their organisations and among various healthcare stakeholders.
“By optimising our performance and analytical capabilities, we can empower organisations to accelerate digital transformation, advance value-based care (VBC), and more readily adopt artificial intelligence (AI).”
Milliman MedInsight said its new cloud infrastructure will significantly enhance operational efficiency by reducing data processing times from days or weeks to mere hours.
Its faster processing capability will allow healthcare organisations to rapidly access critical data, enabling faster decision-making and more responsive healthcare delivery.
Also, the MedInsight Health Cloud transitions away from the traditional Software as a Service (SaaS) data warehouse model and adopts a Platform as a Service (PaaS) approach.
Its shift to a PaaS model not only modernises the infrastructure but also enhances flexibility for users, allowing them to customise and manage their data environments directly.
Furthermore, the platform supports historical analytical group methodologies and next-generation AI and machine learning (ML) technologies, said the company.
Milliman MedInsight principal and product development executive vice president Iyibo Jack said: “We are thrilled to introduce the new Milliman MedInsight Health Cloud, a testament to our commitment to innovation and excellence in healthcare data analytics.
“By leveraging Milliman’s 75 years of healthcare and actuarial experience with our enhanced capabilities, we unlock new opportunities for customers to overcome their data challenges and usher in a new era of AI and machine learning in healthcare analytics at scale.”
