US-based at-home sleep apnoea testing company Lofta has joined forces with Bloom Mental Health, a psychiatric care provider, to improve patient access to sleep apnoea diagnostics.

The partnership focuses on the link between sleep disorders and mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, and cognitive impairment.

Under the collaboration, Bloom Mental Health will integrate Lofta’s at-home sleep study services into its patient care assessments.

The integration aims to facilitate the identification and treatment of underlying sleep disorders for individuals facing mental health challenges.

The collaboration seeks to simplify the diagnostic process, allowing patients to undergo evaluations in the comfort of their homes rather than in traditional sleep labs.

The partnership between Lofta and Bloom Mental Health aims to reduce barriers to diagnosis, ultimately promoting better health outcomes.

By addressing both sleep and psychiatric disorders, the collaboration advocates for a more comprehensive approach to patient care.

Bloom Mental Health founder Jadon Webb said: “While sleep is often acknowledged as vital for physical health, its critical role in mental health remains less recognised.

“We’ve found that patients struggling with anxiety, depression, or even conditions like ADHD frequently experience significant improvements when underlying sleep disorders are treated.

“Our collaboration with home sleep testing specialists highlights how convenient and accurate identification of sleep disorders can accelerate mental health recovery, revealing that good mental health often begins with better sleep.”

Lofta aims to simplify the experience of managing sleep-disordered breathing by eliminating obstacles and providing expert guidance from diagnosis to treatment.

Its at-home sleep testing service offers a streamlined diagnostic process, providing patients with a convenient alternative to traditional sleep labs.

The approach is intended to enhance patient compliance and expedite the diagnostic timeline, delivering results within days.

Bloom Mental Health provides efficient care through video conferencing and electronic prescriptions, minimising disruptions to patients’ schedules.
