US-based healthcare consumer experience platform League has announced a strategic alliance with Morningside, a venture capital firm investing in novel science and technology companies.
The partnership aims to enhance healthcare navigation and personalisation, using League’s platform technology and Morningside’s healthcare portfolio to improve health outcomes.
Founded in 2014, League is said to be a trusted platform for top healthcare brands such as Highmark Health, Manulife, and Medibank.
With $285m in venture capital funding to date, League delivers personalised healthcare experiences using data and AI to drive health engagement.
League founder and CEO Michael Serbinis said: “Gerald Chan is a visionary investor and philanthropist who shares our aspirations for the future of healthcare. We’re thrilled to be partnering so deeply with Morningside.
“The synergy with the healthcare companies in their portfolio offers incredible potential to unlock new possibilities in areas like data integration, predictive analytics, and digital therapeutics, ultimately transforming the way people experience care.”
The partnership builds on existing relationship between the two parties, where Morningside has invested in League, while the investment terms were undisclosed.
It will focus on solutions for ageing, chronic condition management, mental health, women and infant health, addressing high-cost and poor-outcome health conditions worldwide.
League said the announcement follows its recent milestones, including a $100m financing deal with RBCx and its tenth anniversary.
Also, the collaboration aligns with Morningside’s strategy to drive innovation in care delivery.
Morningside founder and chairman Gerald Chan said: “League’s ability to activate plan members and get them to make proactive health decisions is truly world-class.
“We believe that for innovative health technology to achieve its promise and potential, it can’t just show results in a pilot study – these products have to be deployed across populations.
“We are privileged to be partnering with them on the further expansion of a population health-focused ecosystem for all.”
