US-based business acquisitions and management firm Integrated Health Services (IHS) has acquired BC Healthcare, a speciality medical practice offering advanced healthcare services, for an undisclosed sum.
The strategic acquisition is expected to strengthen BC Healthcare as a provider of comprehensive patient care, with advanced medical services.
BC Healthcare will expand its offerings to include allergy care, vein ablation, and genicular artery embolisation (GAE) services.
Also, the practice will provide advanced treatments for vascular health, chronic pain management, and immune system disorders.
By integrating advanced facilities, highly skilled medical professionals, and technology, IHS aims to enhance the quality, accessibility, and efficiency of healthcare services for locals.
As part of the acquisition, BC Healthcare partner Eric Clements will remain with the organisation and continue working in the same role.
In addition to advancing medical services, the acquisition is expected to generate new employment opportunities in the healthcare industry and support economic growth.
IHS CEO Warren Thomas said: “We are excited to welcome BC Healthcare into the IHS family. This acquisition reflects our unwavering commitment to reshaping the healthcare experience and making a lasting impact on patients’ lives.
“With the addition of Allergy Care, Vein Ablation, and Genicular Artery Embolization (GAE), we are expanding access to essential treatments that promote long-term health and wellness.
“Furthermore, having Dr Clements stay on as a partner ensures continuity in patient care and strengthens our ability to innovate and grow in the healthcare sector.”
In 2023, HIS granted General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) a $2.5bn contract to upgrade its electronic health record (EHR) system.
The indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract has been signed for 10 years with a five-year base period along with five option years.
Its scope includes the installation of a new cloud-based enterprise EHR system from Oracle Health to replace the agency’s current patient and health record system.
