HealthWorks for Northern Virginia, a non-profit community health centre, has implemented AI-powered solutions from eClinicalWorks, including Sunoh.ai and healow Chatbot, to enhance clinical documentation.

eClinicalWorks is a US-based healthcare IT company providing electronic health records (EHR).

The AI-powered solutions aim to simplify operations, reduce staff burnout and improve patient-provider interactions.

They support HealthWorks for Northern Virginia’s goal of providing high-quality healthcare to the Spanish-speaking community in Northern Virginia.

Sunoh.ai easily integrates with the eClinicalWorks EHR, which allows providers to document patient interactions efficiently and complete their tasks promptly.

The integration led to significant improvements in clinical efficiency and supports the practice’s goal of delivering personalised and exceptional care to its community.

eClinicalWorks CEO and co-founder Girish Navani said: “eClinicalWorks is proud to democratise AI in healthcare with our innovative solutions, which positively impact health centres like HealthWorks for Northern Virginia.

“We are committed to providing innovative solutions such as Sunoh.ai, which reduces the documentation burden on providers and helps them focus more on patient engagement, saving providers up to two hours daily on documentation.

“With our AI solutions leading the charge, we’re delighted to be at the forefront of this transformative healthcare evolution.”

Established in 2007, HealthWorks is a non-profit, community-based Federally Qualified Health Centre (FQHC) providing medical, dental, and behavioural health services.

Building on positive results from the AI-powered medical scribe, HealthWorks for Northern Virginia has adopted additional AI products, including the healow Chatbot.

The virtual assistant, equipped with the EHR, covers routine patient needs, such as booking appointments and answering common queries, allowing the practice to operate 24/7.

With the implementation of the healow Chatbot, the practice experienced a significant reduction in call volume for routine questions, enhancing the overall patient experience.

Northern Virginia Health Centre IT Manager Jesse Burke said: “Sunoh.ai helps our providers streamline the documentation process, which helps them manage their daily workflows better and increase their focus on patient care.

“Sunoh.ai helps providers engage with Spanish-speaking patients effectively as it picks up the translator dialogue and accurately documents patient interactions, saving us substantial time daily.

“With Sunoh.ai and other AI tools, we can efficiently deliver personalized, more convenient care to our patients.

“Additionally, with healow Chatbot, we have been able to decrease our phone load by a significant amount thanks to the simple questions being able to be answered by the chatbot.”
