US-based digital health startup Drive Health, in partnership with Google Public Sector, has launched its AI-powered health assistant, dubbed Nurse Avery.

Google Public Sector is a division of Google, dedicated to providing cloud services, AI, and cybersecurity solutions to government and educational institutions.

Building on Google Public Sector’s advanced technology and cloud infrastructure, Nurse Avery provides secure, and highly personalised healthcare solutions.

The AI assistant comes with capabilities such as real-time chart reviews, appointment scheduling, and proactive engagement, to transform how providers and patients interact.

Drive Health CEO Kevin Longoria said: “Healthcare is at a crossroads, and the need for scalable, innovative solutions has never been greater.

“Nurse Avery by Drive Health, powered by Google, represents our bold step toward transforming healthcare delivery.

“Together, we’re building a future where technology doesn’t just complement care – it elevates it.”

According to the American Hospital Association (AHA), the healthcare industry is facing a serious shortage, and the US will be short of 3.2 million direct care professionals by 2026.

Building on Google Cloud’s advanced security and auditing capabilities, Nurse Avery serves as a secure, responsive, and personalised healthcare assistant.

Google’s powerful cloud infrastructure helps the AI assistant maintain HIPAA compliance to protect patient data and deliver high-quality care at scale.

Nurse Avery instantly provides care plan details, medication instructions, and answers to symptom-related questions, all while facilitating communication with providers.

Furthermore, the AI assistant eliminates the need to navigate complex phone menus or endure frustrating delays, ensuring the patients are confident about their providers.

Google Public Sector field chief technology officer Chris Hein said: “We are thrilled to partner with Drive Health in launching Nurse Avery, a technology with immense potential to redefine patient care.

“This collaboration exemplifies Google’s commitment to innovation and supporting organisations that are paving the way for accessible, equitable healthcare solutions.”
