Dexcom has unveiled its latest innovation, an AI-powered meal logging feature, across its glucose biosensing portfolio, enhancing personalised insights for users.

The new feature, available on the Stelo and Dexcom G7 apps, allows users to photograph their meals, with AI identifying ingredients and populating meal descriptions.

It improves the users’ understanding of how meals impact their glucose levels.

Stelo is the first over-the-counter glucose biosensor approved in the US, following its earlier introduction on the Dexcom G7.

The Dexcom G7 remains the sole prescription continuous glucose monitor (CGM) in the US supporting photo logging.

The Smart Food Logging feature complements other recent enhancements within Dexcom’s glucose biosensing range, such as Weekly Insights in Stelo.

Weekly Insights in Stelo provides personalised tips on diet, exercise, and sleep.

In addition, Stelo now integrates with Oura, offering users a comprehensive view of their biometric data, including glucose levels.

This integration aids users in understanding the effects of various health behaviours on metabolic health.

Further advancements include a Customisable target range in Dexcom G7, allowing users to personalise glucose target ranges.

Also, Glucose Impact in both Dexcom G7 and Stelo which provides a focused view of how meals, activities, and sleep patterns affect glucose levels.

Users can access the Smart Food Logging feature by updating to the latest app version on iOS and Android platforms.

Earlier this year, DexCom announced that its Dexcom G7 CGM System can now be directly connected to Apple Watch in the US.

The new direct connectivity feature allows users to view real-time glucose readings on their wrists even when their iPhones are away.
