Community Hospital Corporation (CHC) is set to invest $400m in a new non-profit acute care hospital, Heritage Regional Medical Centre (HRMC), in Sherman, Texas, US.

The new hospital, which aims to set a new standard in healthcare delivery, is planned to begin construction in early 2026 and open to the public in 2028.

It will be located within the Heritage Ranch Master Planned Community in southwest Sherman, near the intersection of Highway 82 and FM 1417.

The facility is said to integrate advanced technology and compassionate care for Sherman and its surrounding communities.

The initial phase of HRMC will feature 100 inpatient beds and infrastructure to support future expansion in surgery, imaging, emergency, and outpatient services.

It will initially employ over 400 staff, with plans to increase this to more than 1,000 as the facility expands to have up to 200 additional inpatient beds.

The new hospital will address immediate healthcare needs and foster collaboration with local investors and physicians.

CHC president and CEO Jim Kendrick said: “We are thrilled to lead the development of the new Heritage Regional Medical Center.

“Our mission is to serve Sherman and the surrounding communities with excellence and compassion, bringing high quality, technologically advanced care to area patients.”

HRMC will offer advanced medical services in a healing environment, staffed by skilled physicians, technicians, pharmacists, and nurses.

The project is a collaboration between CHC and its key community stakeholders.

The stakeholders include The City of Sherman, Grayson County, First State Bank, First United Bank, Simmons Bank, two prominent tribal nations, the Texoma Community Foundation, the WNJ Health Foundation, and Covenant Development.

ADAMS Management Services will oversee construction, while national healthcare architectural firm ESa will design the new acute care facility.

Kendrick added: “As part of this development, I am proud to announce Ron Seal as incoming CEO for Heritage Regional Medical Center.

“We are excited to have Ron at the helm of this new organisation, aligning skilled medical staff and building a talented, compassionate employee base.”

“Mr Seal’s prior executive leadership roles include CEO, Texoma Medical Center, and CEO, Wesley Health Services, Hattiesburg, Mississippi.”
