Bangkok Medical Software (BMS), in collaboration with Looloo Health, has introduced PresScribe, an AI-driven tool, to enhance healthcare delivery in Thailand.
Leveraging Microsoft technology, the solution is operational in 35 hospitals and integrates seamlessly with BMS-HOSxP and BMS-HOSxP XE systems.
PresScribe transcribes and summarises doctor-patient interactions, enabling clinicians to prioritise patient engagement over administrative tasks. BMS aims to extend this technology to hospitals nationwide.
Developed by Looloo Health, a subsidiary of Looloo Technology, PresScribe employs Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service to redefine medical documentation.
The tool is designed specifically for medical contexts, offering a speech-to-text feature that accurately processes complex medical terms.
This innovation addresses the challenge of manual documentation, streamlining the process and allowing for immediate accuracy checks.
Since 1 November 2024, PresScribe has been operational in select hospitals, with plans for wider deployment across Thailand. Initial forecasts suggest that the tool could cut down documentation time by up to 80%, enabling healthcare professionals to dedicate more time to patient care. The reduction in administrative burden is expected to improve the overall efficiency of healthcare services in the country.
Banglamung Hospital deputy director Dr Chanchai Limthongcharoen said: “PresScribe significantly enhances doctor-patient communication. By reducing the burden of manual notetaking, physicians can devote more attention to their patients during consultations.
“The system efficiently records and summarizes key information, ensuring critical details aren’t missed. This allows for more meaningful conversations and deeper understanding, ultimately supporting more effective and higher-quality care.”
BMS Group CEO Chaiyaporn Suratemekul said: “For over 20 years, BMS Group has been committed to providing healthcare information management software to all medical facilities nationwide, covering more than 90% of hospitals, from local health centers to major medical institutions.
“Since 2019, BMS Group has proudly worked with the Ministry of Public Health on key initiatives, including the COVID-19 vaccination recording system, MOPH-PHR, and epidemiology system to advancing healthcare service through innovative technology.”
