US-based healthcare technology company Arbital Health has entered a strategic partnership with home-based healthcare services provider HarmonyCares to scale value-based care.

For more than three decades, HarmonyCares has delivered home-based care to senior citizens with complex healthcare and social needs.

Currently, the company supports more than 70,000 patients across 17 states through value-based care partnerships with Medicare Advantage plans and Medicare ACO programs.

Arbital Health aims to advance value-based care by building a neutral platform to centralise, measure, and adjudicate value-based care contracts.

Under the collaboration, Arbital Health and HarmonyCares will deliver care to vulnerable populations, driving better outcomes and efficiencies.

Arbital Health chief product officer Jesica Freeman said: “With our platform, we are helping HarmonyCares accurately assess timely contract performance and gain actionable insights to support their continued success.

“A major challenge in value-based care is the misalignment of performance metrics, making contract reconciliation difficult due to the complexity.

“Traditional approaches are often inadequate when finance teams lack a platform technology that can ingest disparate data files aligned to contract-specific performance rules, manage patient attribution, and reconcile contracts independently at scale.”

The partnership supports HarmonyCare’s strategy to improve outcomes and costs through Medicare Advantage, ACO REACH, and MSSP contracts for at-home clinical services.

It allows HarmonyCares to simplify the reconciliation of value-based care contracts, optimise contract performance monitoring, and deliver insights to improve senior care outcomes.

HarmonyCares CFO Zack Mulligan said: “Our partnership with Arbital Health provides our team with a critical platform for value-based care contract performance monitoring and adjudication.

“Our goal is to identify cost drivers before they occur and strategically invest in areas that positively impact the care and health outcomes of the seniors we serve.

“The combination of purpose-built technology with deep actuarial expertise that Arbital Health provides will be a helpful tool as we grow, scale, and find better ways to serve our patients.”

Last month, Arbital Health added a five-member team of senior value-based care actuarial professionals, with experience in actuarial analysis, medical economics, and data science.
