Amavita Heart and Vascular Health has launched a new cardiovascular ambulatory surgery centre (ASC) in Miami’s Kendall neighbourhood.

Founded in 2017, Amavita is affiliated with Jackson Health System and Mercy Hospital and has performed over 12,000 minimally invasive procedures.

The new facility, located at 9408 SW 87th Avenue, Suite 303, is the first dedicated cardiovascular ASC in the region, offering outpatient care for heart and vascular conditions.

The 15,000ft2 ASC, led by Harvard-trained interventional cardiologist Dr. Pedro Martinez-Clark, features advanced technology and a patient-centric design.

It offers same-day procedures previously limited to hospitals, with two hybrid operating suites equipped with robotic-assisted surgical systems and 3D echocardiography.

Strategically positioned within the Med Square Health campus, the ASC benefits from the development’s advanced security infrastructure, operational efficiency, and patient amenities.

The collaboration elevates Med Square as a national model for outpatient care.

Amavita partnered with Cardiovascular Centres of America (CCA) to meet rigorous clinical and operational standards.

CCA’s expertise in facility design, regulatory compliance, and supply chain optimisation enabled the centre to achieve AAAHC accreditation before opening.

The centre addresses healthcare gaps in South Florida, where cardiovascular disease accounts for 28% of annual deaths.

It offers cost-efficient procedures priced 40-60% below hospital rates, enhancing physician efficiency and patient experience.

Aligned with Dr. Martinez-Clark’s Miami Initiative to Stop Amputation (MISA), the ASC will host monthly vascular screening camps for underserved populations.

Plans include a telehealth hub and a training lab for interventionalists.

Dr. Martinez-Clark said: “Today, we revolutionise cardiovascular care in South Florida. By bringing hospital-grade technology into an outpatient environment, we reduce recovery times by up to 70% while cutting costs for patients and insurers and improving patient experience and satisfaction.

“Our ASC isn’t just a facility—it’s a commitment to making life-saving interventions accessible to the Kendall community.”
