Aster DM Healthcare has announced plans to invest Rs1.2bn ($13.3m) for establishing five Oncology Radiation LINAC Centres in India to serve underprivileged patients with cancer.
This initiative, part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, aims to offer subsidised and free radiation therapy to patients who cannot continue or afford life-saving treatment.
The inaugural oncology radiation centre will be set up in Wayanad, Kerala, and will serve the wider Malabar region, including adjacent regions.

Aster DM Healthcare said that the remaining four centres will be established in locations, including Bengaluru and other cities, with site selection guided by community needs and clinical feasibility over the next three years.
The centres will be equipped with linear accelerators (LINAC) and supporting facilities.
They will operate under Aster Volunteers, the global CSR programme of Aster DM Healthcare, which focuses on the improvement of community health and socio-economic development.
Aster DM Healthcare chairman and founder Dr Azad Moopen was quoted by Express Healthcare as saying: “This initiative reflects Aster’s deep commitment to making advanced cancer care accessible to all, especially underprivileged and underserved communities across India.
“No one should be denied the chance to fight cancer with dignity, confidence, and hope. Through this effort, Aster reaffirms its mission of delivering high-quality, compassionate healthcare to every patient, regardless of their financial circumstances.”
In July 2025, Aster DM Healthcare announced plans to build a new 500-bed hospital in Bengaluru, India. The new hospital in Yeswanthpur will increase the total bed capacity in the city to 2,580.
