MoveoSiphon ST24 is a CE-certified disinfection system for sink traps in clinical sanitary areas. Numerous publications show that sink traps in clinical sanitary facilities are well-known reservoirs of nosocomial infections. Whereas conventional sink traps in clinical sanitary facilities are a frequent source of outbreaks, the dual approach of the MoveoSiphon kills bacteria in the trap liquid and prevents biofilm development.
The MoveoSiphon is using the following mechanisms: Thermal disinfection that meets at least the standards of the technical process of pasteurisation, and electromechanical cleaning to prevent the development of biofilms on the inside walls of the trap.
The continuous and automatic disinfection prevents the aerosol formation and thus the transmission of pathogens from the sink trap to patients or hospital staff.
As the continuous disinfection of the siphon is carried out without using chemicals, you are doing something not only for the benefit of your patients but also for the environment.
The MoveoSiphon replaces the standard sink trap but is not only an odour trap. When installing the disinfection system, the standard sink trap under sinks and baby bathtubs. With the installation of the MoveoSiphon a microbial barrier between the waste water system and the clean area is created.
MoveoSiphon achieves a 7-log stage reduction in bacteria. The bacteria in the siphon water are reduced by 99.99999 %. Thanks to the unique operating principle the bacteria are already effectively reduced after the first disinfection cycle. The efficacy of the device was proven in a laboratory test using the typical hospital relevant bacterial species: Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Acinetobacter baumannii, Klebsiella pneumoniae (ESBL strain) and Enterococcus faecium (VRE strain).
Besides the laboratory test, several studies have proven the MoveoSiphon's effectiveness in controlling the spread of nosocomial infections caused by contaminated sink traps.
